Most likely the batteries in the unit are not reaching a sufficient charge level during the day, causing a diminished light output at night. Please follow these steps to accurately diagnose and correct the issue.
- First, turn the unit OFF by pressing the control switch underneath fixture mounting canopy (see instructions for details). When the unit is OFF, open the battery compartment and ensure batteries are present and in the correct polarity. Replace the battery housing, and switch unit back to “Auto” or “ON” mode.
- Second, observe the sun’s position at peak sun hours (usually midday), and ensure solar panel is positioned to receive direct sunlight.
- Third (if issues persist), we advise you to turn the unit OFF (see instruction manual) for a period of 2-5 days, which will allow batteries to charge via solar power without discharging at night.
- If all of the above fails, please initiate a return of the product. You may return the product directly to KODA or you can return the unit directly to the retailer (subject to retailer’s return policy). If you encounter any issues, please call KODA at 866-294-9244 (available Monday to Saturday 8am to 5pm PST) or via our Contact Form.
